Dancing Under
the Big Sky

Montana Ballet Company’s Annual Dancing Under the Big Sky (DUBS) 2-week Summer Dance Intensive is an enriching educational program featuring exceptional guest teachers from across the country and a full curriculum.

DUBS 2020 will be held on Monday, July 27 through Saturday, August 8. Rachel Van Buskirk and Christian Clark, both of whom have danced and taught for the Atlanta Ballet, will serve as special guest teachers. 

DUBS classes will run Monday through Friday from 9 am – 5:30 pm, with short breaks and a lunch break each day. 
Our Dancing Under the Big Sky Intensive, with a full and thoughtful curriculum, exemplifies our belief in nurturing the “whole dancer,” mind, body, and spirit.

Guest Faculty

Mini-DUBS
(Dancing Under the Big Sky)

A “mini” version of our Dancing Under the Big Sky (DUBS) summer intensive for younger dancers. Mini-DUBS will be held Monday, July 27 through Saturday, August 8. Classes run Monday through Friday from 9 am – 2:45 pm, with short breaks and lunch break each day. This two-week dance intensive aims to provide dancers Ages 8+ and/or determined ready to commit to an intensive, with the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a variety of dance forms, concentrating on technique, artistry, musicality and expression. Outstanding guest faculty will serve to inspire dancers to achieve high standards through this exposure. Intensive schedules will include repertory rehearsals with guest artists and Montana Ballet staff. Our Dancing Under the Big Sky Intensive, with a full and thoughtful curriculum, exemplifies our belief in nurturing the “whole dancer,” mind, body, and spirit.

Open
Ballet Classes

Open Classes, Summer 2020: June 15 – July 24 (*No Classes the Week of June 29)

Our Open Classes are a wonderful opportunity for students to continue their classical ballet training during the summer months. All of our summer programs are open to continuing Academy students and new students alike.

Monday

– Ages 5 – 7:  4 – 5 pm

– Ages 8 – 11:  4 – 5:15 pm

– Adult Ballet: 5:30 – 7 pm

Tuesday

– Combined Upper Division Class: 4:30 – 6 pm

– Conditioning: 6 – 7 pm

Wednesday

– Intermediate/Advanced: 4:30 – 6 pm

Thursday

– Intermediate/Advanced: 4:00 – 5:30 pm

– Elementary with Pointe: 4:30 – 6:30 pm

Friday

– Pre-Ballet: 10 – 10:45 am

Summer Conditioning Class

A fun and energetic full body conditioning and exercise class, with a focus on stretching and strengthening. Classes are held on Tuesdays from 6 – 7 pm
